Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested for allegedly battering a man and stealing his cellphone.
Gwenneth Irene Long, 25, 56 EMS C28E Lane, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery and theft, both class A misdemeanors.
On March 15, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic dispute in Warsaw. A man said he was inside a home with two children when he heard someone knocking at the front door.
According to court documents, Long was at the door and physically pushed the man so she could enter the home. Once inside, Long began throwing items, nearly hitting one of the children. Long also grabbed the man’s cellphone out of his hands and hit the back of his head. She left the residence with the man’s cellphone.
The man said Long returned to the home and asked him not to call law enforcement. She returned the man’s phone at that time.
In an interview on March 26, Long said she was having a dispute with the man when she grabbed and took possession of his phone. She also admitted to hitting the man.
Long has already been arrested and released on bond.
