Giron Arrested For Allegedly Using Texas Woman’s Info To Obtain Employment

SYRACUSE — A Warsaw woman was arrested for allegedly using a Texas woman’s identifying information to obtain employment in Syracuse.
Anna Giron, 34, 1692 E. 200N Lot 176, Warsaw, is charged with identity deception and perjury, both level 6 felonies.
On June 5, a Syracuse Police officer received a phone call from a woman who resides in Texas. The woman said she attempted to sign up for Medicaid when she was contacted by Medicaid inquiring about her recent paycheck from a business in Syracuse.
According to court documents, this conversation led to the woman discovering that her personal information was being used by an individual in Syracuse.
On June 18, a Syracuse detective went to the business and asked about an employee using the woman’s name. The employee was later identified as Giron, who admitted to working under an identity that was not hers.
Giron said she bought an identity document from a person who said they were one of the woman’s relatives.
On June 21, the detective received documents from the business that were provided by Giron. On one of the forms, a box was checked identifying Giron as the woman. The form listed a penalty of perjury warning. Giron signed the form with the woman’s name on March 29, 2023.
Giron also had an ID card and social security card with the woman’s information.
Giron has already been arrested and released on bond. A photo of Giron was unavailable for publication.
