Hobbs Arrested For Allegedly Hitting Man

CLAYPOOL — A Claypool woman was recently arrested after allegedly hitting a man while in the presence of several children.
Tara Lynn Hobbs, 36, 3019 W. Hill Lake Road, Claypool, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 4, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic complaint in Claypool. A man said he was trying to locate his missing child and believed the child was with Hobbs.
According to court documents, when the man went to speak with Hobbs, an argument ensued. The fight turned physical when Hobbs allegedly hit the man’s neck with her right hand. A child at the scene pulled the man back to prevent him from being hit again.
Two other children were also nearby when the incident occurred.
The deputy noticed red irritation on the man’s neck.
Hobbs was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 4.
