COLUMBIA CITY — A Columbia City man was killed in a wreck southeast of Columbia City on Monday night, Aug. 12.

According to information from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Ralph Henderson, 78, South CR 600E, passed away after the wreck at 7725 E. 800S, Columbia City.

The WCSO reports Henderson was traveling eastbound on CR 800S when he left the roadway for an unknown reason. His vehicle went through a beanfield and hit a tree.

He was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne where he later passed away.

Also responding to the scene were the Indiana State Police, Parkview EMS and the Jefferson Township Fire Department
