Zeringue Arrested For Stealing Over $1K Of Items From Warsaw Walmart
Staff Report
WARSAW — A North Webster man was recently arrested for allegedly stealing over $1,000 in merchandise from the Warsaw Walmart.
Daniel Adam Joseph Zeringue Jr., 40, 312 W. Crystal Flash Road Lot 18, North Webster, is charged with theft where the value of the property is between $750 and $50,000, a level 6 felony.
On April 21, a Warsaw detective spoke with a Walmart loss prevention employee regarding a theft report. The employee said a man used the “scan and go” method to shop. With this method, shoppers can scan items they would like to purchase, then proceed to a checkout station to pay for the merchandise prior to leaving the store.
According to court documents, the man left the store with merchandise in his cart without making any attempt to pay for the items. The total value of the stolen items was $1,697.89.
The employee used surveillance video and a booking photo found on InkFreeNews to identify the man as Zeringue. The detective confirmed the man was Zeringue through BMV information.
On April 24, the detective went to Zeringue’s home and told Zeringue’s roommate to have Zeringue contact him.
On April 25, the detective spoke with Zeringue, who said he wanted to meet and clear the situation up. They agreed to meet at Warsaw Police Department on April 27. Zeringue failed to show up for the meeting.
Zeringue was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 9.
