Warsaw Woman Arrested On Several Domestic Battery Charges

WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested for allegedly using a knife to injure a man.
Genesis Teran, 22, 314 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 12, Warsaw Police officers responded to a fight in progress at a residence. Upon arrival, officers saw a man with a laceration on his left forearm and found blood in several of the residence’s rooms. The man said he was getting ready to leave for work when Teran hit him on the head and bit him three times.
According to court documents, when the man tried to prevent her from battering him, Teran cut the man with a knife. Officers noticed marks on the man’s head and three bite marks on the man’s body.
A witness said Teran and the man who was injured were arguing in a bedroom. The incident turned physical when Teran allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the man. Four children were in the home at the time of the incident.
Teran told officers she argued with the man and cut him with a small black knife.
Teran was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 12.
