SYRACUSE — Construction on the Pearl Street parking lot in Syracuse will be closed after Labor Day as construction work will begin Tuesday, Sept. 3. The parking lot is expected to be closed through mid-November.
Those who regularly use the Pearl Street Parking lot are asked to park on adjacent streets or use the public parking lot located across the street from the Syracuse Public Library.
Currently the parking lot hosts between 50 and 60 vehicles. When the construction work is complete, David Wilkinson, Syracuse town manager, said the lot will hold fewer cars, but will be more aesthetically pleasing and function better.
Wilkinson said part of the planned improvements for the parking lot include islands and a change in traffic patter
