3-Year-Old In Marshall County Tests Positive for Meth, 2 Adults Arrested For Neglect

PLYMOUTH — Two people in Marshall County were arrested after a three-year-old child tested positive for methamphetamine.
The Marshall County Detective Bureau obtained information from the Indiana Department of Child Services about the incident.
On Thursday, Aug. 22, the children within the home were removed and placed in an alternative care home. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Detective Bureau then started a criminal investigation into the situation.
A search warrant was executed for the residence of Sarah Tibbs in the 4000 block of Olive Road in Plymouth on Tuesday, Aug. 27. A substance believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was recovered.
Tibbs, 31, was arrested for possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia and child neglect, and booked into the Marshall County Jail. Timothy J. Barnette, 55, was also arrested and booked in the Marshall County Jail for possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, child neglect and visiting a common nuisance.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Detective Les McFarland stated that liberating children from a bad environment is always a good outcome.
