WARSAW — September is shaping up to be a busy month at Warsaw Community Public Library, with a lineup of events catering to all ages and interests.
The highlight of the month is the StoryWalk Dedication and Preschool Story Time at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9. Join us at the Beyer Farm Trail located at Pike Lake for the dedication ceremony, followed by a special story time. Afterward, the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will lead a craft session in the Fireman’s Building.
We’re excited to kick off our story times for September. Toddler Story Time, starting Wednesday, Sept.11, will be held at 10:15 a.m. every Wednesday for newborns to 2-year-olds. Preschool Story Time with Activity Stations begins at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and continues on Mondays and Fridays. This program offers preschoolers (ages 3-5) a mix of stories, songs, games and social activities.
In addition to story times, we have other youth programs to mark your calendars for: Library Lego on Saturday, Sept. 7, is a come-and-go event where we provide the Legos, and you bring the creativity. Greyt Readers on Saturday, Sept. 14, offers the chance to read to our visiting greyhounds. Kid’s Picture Bingo at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, puts a fun twist on traditional bingo, using pictures instead of numbers.
We’re also hosting events for all ages. Enjoy a free West African Kora Concert at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, and don’t miss Barbara Olenyik Morrow’s presentation, Army Guy and Red Cross Gal, on Wednesday, Sept. 25, where she’ll share the stories of two Hoosiers who made a difference during World War II. At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, join us for a Winona History Walk, where we’ll explore historic sites, including the Billy Sunday Home, Studebaker Fountain, Beyer Home and more.
For adults, we’re offering a Mason Jar Vases craft at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Tea & Canvas at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23. Registration is required for both. Tea & Canvas costs $15. The Adults Creative Writing Club will meet again at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24. Daytime events include euchre at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10; Trivia Time: 1970-1975 at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12; and Staying Scam Safe at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23.
We look forward to seeing you at Warsaw Community Public Library this September as we celebrate stories, creativity, history and community.
