Garza Sworn In As Whitley County Judge

COLUMBIA CITY — Antony Garza, a Warsaw attorney, took the oath of office this morning as Whitley County Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore. Whitley County Circuit Court Judge Matt Rentschler administered the oath.
Garza was appointed judge pro tempore by the Indiana Supreme court on Aug. 27 to fill a temporary vacancy by Judge Douglas M. Fahl, while he is being deployed by the military for service. Garza had expressed a willingness to serve as Judge pro tempore in that court. The position is expected to last one year.
Garza, a native of Warsaw and graduate of Warsaw High School, has been practicing law for over 50 years. He has a degree in architectural landscaping from Iowa State and a law degree from Indiana University School of Law. He has worked for a legal services office, the county prosecutor’s office and a Warsaw law firm before establishing his own law firm. He’s also worked as a mediator for approximately 10 years.
