‘A Walk Through Our Past’ A Cemetery Walk at Oakwood Sept. 14

WARSAW — “A Walk Through Our Past” will be presented at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. This program is a partnership between Oakwood Cemetery and Kosciusko County Historical Society.
Attendance is free.
Tours through the cemetery begin at 10 a.m. and will be guided to the graves of 12 prominent citizens who have contributed to the development and growth of Kosciusko County through the years. Local actors will be stationed at each gravesite to portray the honored citizens with a short presentation about that person’s contribution to local history.
Some of those being honored include Robert Lichtenwalter, John B. Chapman, Justin O. Zimmer, Jane Cowen, Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Dubois, and Mayor John and Mrs. Annie Hansman.
Tours will continue till 2:30 p.m., with a break between noon and 12:30 p.m.
A genealogist from the Historical Society will be in the cemetery chapel to answer questions. Guides will be available to drive golf carts for those attendees with mobility issues. Attendees are invited to bring picnics. Picnic tables will be provided.
