SILVER LAKE — A Silver Lake man was recently arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a woman without her consent.

Raymond E. Stevens Jr., 58, 416 W. Coy Ave., Silver Lake, is charged with sexual battery, a level 6 felony; and battery, a class B misdemeanor.

On Sept. 2, a Silver Lake Police officer responded to a report of an intoxicated person who touched a woman inappropriately. The officer later learned Stevens had an active warrant out of Whitley County.

The woman said she was outside when Stevens called her over to show her his motorcycles. According to court documents, Stevens told the woman they could have sex. He also said the woman could be his wife and that she would have to do anything he told her to do. As the incident escalated, Stevens inappropriately touched the woman.

When the woman attempted to leave, Stevens allegedly mouthed aggressively to the woman to come back to him. The woman told the officer she was scared Stevens would get angry, so she walked back over to him. Stevens asked the woman to send him naked pictures and again grabbed the woman in an inappropriate manner.

Stevens was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 2.
