North Webster Man Arrested For Allegedly Burglarizing Storage Unit, Stealing Bike
Staff Report
NORTH WEBSTER — A North Webster man was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a storage unit and stealing a bicycle.
James Allen Dyal, 48, 8147 E. Pioneer Way, North Webster, is charged with burglary, a level 5 felony; and theft where the value of the property is between $750 and $50,000 and possession of methamphetamine, both level 6 felonies.
On July 22, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a burglary report at Spacemaker’s Self-Storage in North Webster. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a man who said a bicycle was stolen from his storage unit.
According to court documents, an employee at Spacemaker’s Self-Storage said a man, later identified as Dyal, was renting a storage unit across from the unit where the bicycle was stolen from. Dyal’s physical description matched the one law enforcement was provided for the individual who stole the bicycle.
In an interview on Aug. 26, Dyal admitted to entering the storage unit and taking the bicycle. He said he hid the bicycle in a tree line and told the detective the bicycle was gone when he returned to get it. The detective agreed to drive Dyal to the location where the bicycle was allegedly located. Prior to the drive, the detective patted Dyal down and found drug paraphernalia and a bag containing meth.
Dyal has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance.
