One Dead, One Airlifted After Vehicle Accident In Marshall County

PLYMOUTH — One woman has died and one man has been airlifted after a car accident in Plymouth Tuesday, Sept. 10.
According to a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department press release, at 6:16 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s department responded to a car accident at Lincoln Highway, east of King Road, Plymouth.
Officers discovered that the vehicle of Franco Milian, 46, was traveling west on Lincoln Highway, east of King Road, and for unknown reasons crossed the center line. Once Milian’s vehicle crossed the center line, it sideswiped an eastbound 2023 Chrysler minivan, which made an evasive maneuver toward the ditch to avoid being struck by Milian’s vehicle. Milian’s vehicle then struck the vehicle of Aniesha Himes, 20, head-on in the eastbound lane. Milian’s vehicle finally came to rest facing south on Lincoln Highway before catching on fire.
Milian was pinned in the vehicle. The fire was suppressed until the fire department was able to put the fire out and remove Milian. The front seat passenger in Milian’s vehicle was not injured. Milian was flown to Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
Himes was pronounced dead at the scene.
This crash is still under investigation.
In addition to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire, Plymouth EMS, Lutheran EMS and Samaritan Helicopter responded to the scene.
