Parkview Kosciusko Birthing Center Opens Sept. 17
News Release
WARSAW — Parkview Kosciusko Hospital will expand services to Kosciusko County and surrounding area residents with the opening of its Family Birthing Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The new, 11,391-square-foot Parkview Kosciusko Hospital Family Birthing Center features seven labor/delivery/recovery/ postpartum rooms as well as two triage rooms and a dedicated C-section suite. Having a C-section suite in the unit is intended to enhance safety for patients and minimize disruption in a family’s birthing experience.
Artwork provided by local photographers is featured in the center’s décor, including work from Joseph Blazek, Vanessa Hollan, Bonnie Phillips, Scott Quillen and Layclan Saylor, whose photos were submitted on his behalf by Kara Saylor.
Phillips, Hollan and Saylor also have photos on display elsewhere in the hospital.
“I am so impressed by the photos area residents have submitted to us for consideration,” said Scott Gabriel, market president, Parkview Health Northwest. “These beautiful images of Kosciusko County life contribute to the sense of peace and healing in our hospital. We kept the original submissions the photographers sent us for consideration prior to the opening of PKH, and as we were planning for the birthing center, we knew we wanted to display additional photos in the new space.”
In the original call for entries, photographers were invited to submit photos representing the rich heritage, natural beauty and diversity of the community. A number of the winning photographers had multiple submissions chosen.
In January 2024, Parkview Health unveiled the $70 million hospital expansion that transformed the existing 86,000-square-foot Parkview Warsaw facility into the 174,000-square-foot Parkview Kosciusko Hospital.
