Two People Face Charges After Traffic Stop Involving State Police

WARSAW — Two people are facing criminal charges following a traffic stop by Indiana State Police.
Ian James Evans, 23, 52 Redwood Ave., Goshen, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.
Kennedy Lynn Templeton, 20, 3337 E. Pleasant Grove Drive, Warsaw, is charged with possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
On Aug. 24, an ISP trooper was patrolling on North CR 150W near Warsaw when he saw a vehicle disregard a stop sign. The trooper pulled the vehicle over and identified its driver as Evans and Templeton as a passenger.
According to court documents, the trooper smelled marijuana inside the vehicle and also noticed Evans was exhibiting physical signs of intoxication.
Evans admitted to smoking marijuana on Aug. 23. Upon searching the vehicle, troopers found a marijuana cigarette inside Templeton’s purse.
Evans failed several field sobriety tests. Certified chemical test results are pending.
Evans was previously convicted of OWI in Kosciusko County in December 2023.
Evans has already been arrested and released on bond.
Templeton has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Oct. 14, in Kosciusko Superior Court Two.
