Ligonier Man Arrested For Allegedly Battering Woman, Child

LIGONIER — A Ligonier man was arrested for allegedly battering a woman and child.
Jose de Jesus Hernandez Flores, 30, 498 Park Meadow Drive, Ligonier, is charged with confinement, domestic battery on a person less than 14 years old, and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, all level 6 felonies.
On Sept. 5, a Ligonier Police officer responded to a domestic battery report at a residence.
According to court documents, a woman said she and Hernandez Flores had a verbal argument. The incident turned physical when the woman attempted to leave the residence. Hernandez Flores cornered the woman near a front door, grabbed her shoulder, and pushed her around.
Hernandez Flores also placed his hand on the front door, preventing her from leaving the home.
A child was in the home during the incident and attempted to get between Hernandez Flores and the woman. During this, Hernandez Flores allegedly pushed the child backward by hitting their chest.
Hernandez Flores has already been arrested and released on bond.
