Warsaw Schools Host Annual Pink Out Night Oct. 4 To Support Fight Against Cancer
Press Release
WARSAW — Cancer touches countless lives, and Warsaw Community High School is once again rallying to show support.
On Oct. 4, the community is invited to join WCHS for their annual Pink Out Night. During this, the community can come together to raise awareness and stand with those affected by cancer. Cancer survivors attending the game will receive free admission and a special appreciation gift at the admission gates.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Oct. 4, at WCHS, with the football game against Mishawaka.
To participate, attendees are encouraged to wear a 2024 Pink Out Shirt or purchase a pink ribbon at the game. Pink Out shirts can be ordered online. The online store closes at midnight Tuesday, Sept. 24, to ensure orders are processed in time for delivery by Oct. 3. To pay by cash or check, email Leslie Jackson at [email protected]. All orders must be paid by Sept. 25.
Attendees wearing a 2024 Pink Out shirt or a pink ribbon purchased at the game are invited to join the Cheer Block in the halftime “Walk the Block.” A lap will be taken around the track to celebrate survivors, support those with a current cancer diagnosis, and remember those impacted by cancer. Those in the stands are encouraged to stand at their seats.
In addition to the fans, student cheer block members and cheerleaders will wear their Pink Out shirts, and cheerleaders will be selling pink ribbons at the game. Even the football team is stepping up, wearing pink shoelaces in support.
“I think being a leader during Pink Out night is an amazing opportunity to show my support for families who have been affected by breast cancer,” said Ruth Heckaman, president of the cheer block leadership team. “Having the community come together to show their support as well makes for a beautiful experience.”
A thank you is extended to Kari Vilamaa, Tri Kappa and A&G Beauty for their generosity and support in making this event possible.
