Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested after an alleged battery.
Jennifer Rand Ganshorn, 40, 3277 S. SR 15, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, a level 6 felony.
On Aug. 4, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a dispute involving children. A man said he received a call from one of the children, who told him they had a fight with Ganshorn and needed help.
According to court documents, when the man arrived at the scene, he was told by three children an argument occurred over a bottle of liquor. During the argument, Ganshorn allegedly attacked two of the children.
One of the children told deputies they found an opened liquor bottle in Ganshorn’s belongings. When the children confronted her about the bottle, Ganshorn became angry and chased them. During the altercation, Ganshorn allegedly pulled one of the children’s hair and began choking them. When one of the other children attempted to intervene, their hair was also pulled.
Deputies then spoke with Ganshorn, who appeared to be intoxicated. Ganshorn said one of the children woke her up by pulling her hair. She admitted to leaving the residence to get the liquor bottle the children took.
A portable breath test resulted in a 0.21% BrAC for Ganshorn.
At the time of this incident, Ganshorn was on pretrial release for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction. She also has a prior OWI conviction in Kosciusko County from March 2023. There is a probation violation pending in that case. As a condition of her probation, Ganshorn was not allowed to consume any alcohol.
Ganshorn has already been arrested and released on bond.
