Special Olympics Kosciusko County participates in Eunice Kennedy Schriver Games

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Kosciusko County Special Olympic athletes competed in the Eunice Kennedy Schriver Games in Indianapolis Sunday, Sept. 29. The EKS games are multi-sport events during the fall. Golf, equestrian, softball, volleyball, soccer, corn toss and flag football are competitions held.
The corn toss competition took place at Grand Park in Westfield. The flag football tournament was played at Brebeuf Preparatory School in Indianapolis.
Corn Toss Results from respective flights:
First Place — Mike Parker and Norman McPeak; Jerry Davis and Steve Troyer; and Morgan Swafford and Sabrina Turner.
Second Place — Erica Mifflin and Antonio Drummond
Third Place — Brian Bierly and Billie Holtz, Teri Hughes and Malika Wood, and Seth Seitzler and Hailey Hale.
Fourth Place — Jake Voreis and Sandy Hunter, Gale Vanator and Ruby French and Ann Castle and Ruby Mock.
The athletes were coached by Kerry Coulter and Lucinda Conley.
The Kosciusko County flag football team played Hamilton County and lost in a close game by one point in the first round.
Next, Kosciusko County played Madison County losing in the final contest.
Flag Football athletes included: Mike Bousman, Matt Bammel, Amy Philson, Izzi Dawson, Chris Cole, Gage Sellers, Timothy Warner-Guile, Kevin McPeak and Zeus Leonard.
Tom Hamilton and Fred Parrett coached the Flag Football Team.
