Warsaw Man Arrested In Fatal OWI Accident With Bicyclist

WARSAW — A Warsaw man has been arrested after allegedly driving while intoxicated by drugs, resulting in one death.
Jonathan Walter Michael Davis, 25, 602 S. McClellan St., Warsaw, was charged with operating while intoxicated, causing death.
At 7:55 p.m. on Aug. 8, Kosciusko County emergency personnel responded to a traffic accident between a vehicle and bicycle at North SR 19 and West CR 1100N in Kosciusko County.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, officers on scene saw a dead male lying on the road. They observed severe head trauma and minor abrasions on his leg, along with a severely damaged bicycle. The Kosciusko County coroner identified the male as Aaron E. Miller, 52, Nappanee.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jonathan Davis, who stated he was traveling northbound on SR 19 when he saw the flashing lights on Miller’s bike and “blacked out.” He then “regained consciousness” when he hit Miller. Davis consented to a chemical test.
On Sept. 3, officers received Davis’ blood results, which tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana.
Davis was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail with a $36,000 surety and cash bond on Thursday, Oct. 10.
