TEEGARDEN — Five people were injured after a three-vehicle accident in Marshall County on Monday afternoon.
Around 3:37 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, Marshall County Central Dispatch received a call about a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of US 6 and Quince Road. The intersection is west of La Paz.
When officers arrived on scene, it was determined a west-facing 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Dana Shaum, 34, Walkerton, was stopped on US 6, waiting to turn south onto Quince Road. A 2019 GMC Terrain, driven by Jessica Sheaks, 38, Walkerton, was traveling west and failed to yield to the stopped Silverado and rear-ended the pickup truck.
The collision pushed the Silverado into the eastbound lane, where it was hit by an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Timothy Krohn, 62, Walkerton.
Five people were taken to a local hospital, including three children.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Indiana State Police, an Indiana Conservation Officer, Walkerton Police Department, Polk Township Fire Department and EMS, LaPaz EMS, Bremen EMS, and Reichert-Knepp Towing.
