BBBS Board Member Nominated for David A. Bobilya Award
News Release
FORT WAYNE — Big Brothers Big Sisters Board Member Natalie Axel was nominated for the David A. Bobilya Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership Award on Oct. 23 at the Fielding Foundation ceremony.
Established in 2012 and named in honor of its inaugural recipient, the David A. Bobilya Award is awarded to those who exemplify wise leadership and extraordinary servitude in their position as Board Member of a nonprofit organization. Each year this honor is awarded to an individual board member who demonstrated excellence in governance, leadership, financial sustainability and program impact.
Natalie Axel — Board Member, Big Sister and Noble County Ambassador — has been an integral part of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ efforts in the community. Her leadership has been empathetic and resilient, with unwavering dedication to finding mentors for the youth in Northeast Indiana. Through her experienced guidance and direction on the Board and even through her personal and professional financial contributions, Natalie has undoubtedly guided the agency toward sustained growth and impact in the community.
Natalie has spearheaded several of our most successful program features and fundraising efforts. Most notably, her aid in developing the Bowl For Kids’ Sake Kids Champ initiative and Law Enforcement Challenge along with her help developing the Big Futures and Littles Without Limits programs have shaped the way our Agency can impact lives.
Although Natalie did not win the award Wednesday night, her nomination demonstrates the significant part she plays in bettering our community. We are excited to continue our efforts under her guidance.
