Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:49 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 135 N. Harrison St., Warsaw. Drivers: Dau Lee, 84, South Seminole Circle, Fort Wayne; and Patrick J. Perry, 82, Warsaw. Lee’s vehicle and Perry’s vehicle collided. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:48 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, SR 15, near Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: MacKenzie D. Hunley, 28, Isaac Drive, Goshen; and John L. Craig, 79, Beechnut Court, Warsaw. Hunley couldn’t brake in time. His vehicle hit Craig’s. Damage up to $2,500.
- 10:53 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2568 Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Driver: Philip W. Barkey, 77, Freedom Parkway, Winona Lake. Barkey’s vehicle hit a parked vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
- 7:44 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, SR 15, at Boydston Street, Warsaw. Driver: James R. McCrory, 43, Ringneck Trail, Warsaw. McCrory sneezed and his vehicle hit another vehicle. He wasn’t sure if his vehicle crossed the line or the other one did. The other vehicle left the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:44 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, SR 15, at Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dorene L. Rasmussen, 75, South Warbler Lane, Warsaw; and Canan L. Ciesielski, 26, Ridgeland Avenue, Iowa City, Iowa. Rasmussen’s and Ciesielski’s vehicles collided. Rasmussen was checked by medics, but declined further medical attention. Damage up to $10,000.
- 8:28 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, North SR 15, at the intersection of Lyon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Johnny L. Leer, 35, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw; and Brandy M. Young, 44, Boulevard Street, Rochester. Leer was distracted. His vehicle hit the back of Young’s. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, US 30, west of South Circle Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Terrance L. Peeples, 30, Sycamore Street, Jemison, Ala.; and Gene T. Smith, 51, Flagstone Place, Fort Wayne. Peeples tried to avoid hitting another semi in front of his. His vehicle hit Smith’s. Peeples continued on. Smith drove on and tried to stop Peeples’ vehicle. Peeples’ vehicle swerved into his lane and got caught on Smith’s vehicle, dragging it. Smith’s vehicle got loose and went off the roadway into a ditch. Peeples was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. Damage up to $50,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:01 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, US 31 and Wabash Avenue, Rochester. Drivers: Leester L. England, 55, Akron; and Aanaeus T. Areli, 20, Port Richey, Fla. Two vehicles had a nearly-head-on collision. There was entrapment. US 31 shut down. Two helicopters were called for transport. No other information available.
- 8:37 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 3200 Wabash Ave., Rochester. Driver: Lawrence E. Dietle, 60, Plymouth. Hit deer.
- 7:54 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 9032 West 400N, Rochester. Driver: Elizabeth M. Johnson, 23, Rochester. Hit deer.
- 4:21 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, US 31 and East Olson Road, Rochester. Driver: Teresa Cook, 42, Kokomo. Officers responded to an unknown car in a ditch and found Cook had an accident. She had controlled substances in her purse. She was taken into custody.
- 3:27 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, North US 31 and East CR 375N, Rochester. Driver: Stephanie D. Eckhardt, 22, West Caldwell, N.J. Hit deer.
- 3:09 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, West SR 14 and South CR 650W, Rochester. Driver: Catherine I. Dively. Hit racoon.
- 6:17 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, North US 31 and East 50N, Rochester. Driver: Lisa A. Orn, 56, Nappanee. Hit deer.
- 1:34 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, North CR 675E, Rochester. Driver: Jorge A. DeLeon Gomez, 20, Elkhart. Hit tree. No other information available.
