Cinema Center, YWCA Hosting Holiday Slipper, Clothing Drive During Wicked Screenings
News Release
FORT WAYNE — Move over Barbie, it’s Elphaba’s time in the spotlight.
Last year, Cinema Center helped the community donate over 400 Barbie dolls to the YWCA. This year, its hoping people will again come out to support the community and those in need during its Wicked screenings, starting Monday Nov. 21.
Cinema Center is again partnering with the YWCA. This time, to solicit the donation of new-with-tag slippers — bonus if they’re ruby — and other articles of clothing. Attendees who come with a donation will get a free popcorn as a thank you.
“As we transition to fall and winter along with the holiday season, this is an important time to rekindle the joy that comes from giving. Cinema Center is a place to connect the art of cinema with the needs of our community,” said Fort Wayne Cinema Center Executive Director Art Herbig.
So before you come join Cinema Center for the film, stop by a local retailer and find something that will keep someone warm or on their feet, and Cinema Center promises to confine the flying monkeys to the screen.
