Wawasee High School To Host Supermileage Regional Championship With Shell/Penske
News Release
SYRACUSE — Join the Wawasee High School Corporation for a unique two-day celebration as it honors the remarkable achievements of the Wawasee High School Supermileage Team, which has historically competed on the international stage. Most recently, the team traveled to India to showcase its skills in the world regional championships. Due to the current unrest in the Middle East, Shell will not be holding the international competition this year; instead, they are celebrating regional champions in their hometowns.
A community celebration will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Wawasee High School Agricultural Building. Community members and media are invited to enjoy an evening with light hors d’oeuvres and displays of the Shell/Penske NASCAR vehicle alongside the innovative Wawasee Supermileage car. This gathering offers a rare chance to get up close with both vehicles, meet the Wawasee team, and learn more about their dedication to engineering excellence.
The championship award presentation will be made at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in the Wawasee High School Gymnasium. The Shell/Penske team will officially award the Wawasee Supermileage Team with its regional championship title during an all-school pep rally. This event celebrates their hard work and marks a milestone achievement in the presence of the entire student body. Media are encouraged to attend and capture this special moment for our students and community.
