Chryl L. Smith — UPDATED
Chryl L. Smith, 75, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at her residence.
Chryl was born on July 5, 1949, in Warsaw, to Harold and Margaret (Weed) Jones. On April 27, 1968, she married Kimball “Kim” Smith, who survives, and they shared 56 loving years together.
She was a graduate of Mentone High School with the Class of 1967. Chryl was a homemaker who loved being with her family and watching movies together. One of her favorite movies was “Gone with the Wind.” She also liked watching “Masterpiece” theater, nature shows and “Nova.” She enjoyed going to Pierceton and Shipshewana to the flea market and antique shops. Chryl liked reading magazines, and Better Homes and Gardens was her favorite. She also enjoyed collecting clowns.
Chryl will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kim Smith; daughter, Robin (Matt) Almack; grandchild, Tyler (Aspen) Smith; great-grandchildren, Willow and Elowyn Smith, all of Albion; sister, Paula (Richard) Morrison, of Valparaiso; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her sister, Esther Ann Jones; brothers, Jack (Bev) Warren, Raymond Warren and Ray Warren; niece, Angel Grandstaff; and nephews, Mark Warren and Troy Craig.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Chryl’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Ken Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Cemetery.
