Kathy Anderson-Takacs

Kathleen N. Anderson-Takacs, 84, of Pierceton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

Kathy was born on Aug. 14, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Darwin and Jane Gibson. On April 17, 2004, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., she married Bill Takacs, who survives.

She was the owner and operator of Pizza Stop & Subs in Pierceton for 31 years. Kathy enjoyed traveling. Some places she enjoyed seeing were Spain and Myrtle Beach, S.C. She loved her animals, especially her outside cats, and any animal that came within sight. Kathleen loved animals so much that she wouldn’t even run over a caterpillar if she saw one and always felt bad for the deceased animals in the road. She adored her grandkids. Kathleen liked to read and tend to her garden, especially her flowers.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill Takacs, of Pierceton; son, John Michael (Tina) Anderson, of Belleview, Fla.; grandchildren, Katie and Jack Anderson, also of Belleview, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in passing by both parents; her first husband, Jack Anderson; sister, Bettie Sue Easter; and brother, Jackie Wayne Gibson.

A visitation with family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels – Pierceton, 105 S. First St., Pierceton.

Funeral services in celebration of Kathleen’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapels – Pierceton, with Pastor Larry Burkhart officiating.

Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

The family kindly requests memorial donations in honor of Kathleen’s love for animals be made to the Animal Welfare League, 1048 S. 325E, Pierceton, IN 46562.
