NORTH WEBSTER — The second annual Community Christmas tee lighting event in North Webster was deemed a success. The event was held Saturday, Nov. 23.
From 3-6 p.m. residents and visitors mingled through downtown North Webster enjoying pre-black Friday sales at several merchants as well as enjoying activities such as making reindeer feed and roasting marshmellows for smore’s. Santa set up shop at the Tippecanoe Township Fire Department to visit with area children and double check his naughty and nice lists.
Outside the fire department, those waiting to visit with Santa could take a sleigh ride pulled by a pinto pony, named Lulu, who was decked out as Santa.
On Pilcher’s Square, the North Webster Elementary School choir sang Christmas carols as residents mingled, enjoying hot chocolate from The River Coffee House. Several organizations had informational booths set up and there was even a fire pit to warm up by.
At 6:15 p.m. the ATV lighted parade came down SR 13 with vehicles all decked out for the holiday. The parade was followed by a Christmas sing along and then a final countdown as at 6:30 p.m. the town Christmas tree was turned on welcoming the Christmas season.
