James Arthur Sizemore
James Arthur Sizemore of Warsaw, passed away at his home in his daughters’ care on Nov. 30, 2024, at the age of 65 after battling several years of declining health.He was born on Feb. 6, 1959, in Floyd County, Ky., to Martha Rayburn and Lannie Sizemore, and was adopted and lovingly raised by his grandparents, Cleaburn McDaniels and Perlina (Noble) McDaniels.
James is survived by his two daughters, Eva Angela (Daniel) Zolman of Warsaw, Vanessa (Mark) Pohl of Winona Lake; and his son, Ryan Hampton of South Carolina. He also leaves behind his brothers, Calvin Sizemore and Leburn Sizemore both of Kentucky, and sister, Rhonda Hogan of Tennessee. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, Angela Mackinzie Wright, Gavin Zolman, Karson Sizemore, Roman Pohl, Nora Pohl, Eva Pohl, and Hosea Pohl. James was married for 23 years to Lora Sizemore of Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his son, James Mathew Sizemore.
James honorably served in the U.S. National Guard for six years. He spent many years working at Uniroyal, before later embracing the freedom of the open road as a truck driver. In his leisure James enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and working with his hands.
He dearly cherished his family and believed in the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed worshiping alongside his church family at Living Hope Ministries in Warsaw. His warmth, laughter, and sentimental nature filled family gatherings, and his presence will be profoundly missed by his family.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. James’ life will be celebrated with a service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, and officiated by Rev. Hedgel Perry. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
