Hollar Paces Warsaw Golfers
Jonny Hollar led the way for the Warsaw boys golf team Saturday.
Hollar fired a round of 77 as the No. 16 Tigers placed ninth in the Westfield Invitational.
Warsaw shot 328 as a team in the 11-team event held at the Prairie View Golf Club.
No. 7 Carmel won the team title with a 297. No. 2 Westfield was runner-up with a 303.
Will Petro shot an 81 for the Tigers. Ryan Cultice came in with an 84, Michael Jensen an 85 and Brandon Eckert an 87 for coach Ben Barkey’s team.
Reid Cameron shot a 97 competing as an individual for Warsaw.
Lebanon was third in the final team standings with a 313, followed by No. 8 Noblesville (315), No. 4 Zionsville (316), No. 20 Cathedral (318), Guerin Catholic (320), No. 6 Center Grove (321), No. 16 Warsaw (328), Park Tudor (346) and Fishers (347).
Warsaw will host Wawasee Tuesday and then host Elkhart Memorial and Plymouth in conference play at the Stonehenge Golf Club.
The Warsaw junior varsity program hosted its own invitational Saturday at the Rozella Ford Golf Club.
NorthWood shot 351 to win the event. Northridge was second with a 355 with the Warsaw Orange team third with a 358. Plymouth was fourth with a 369, followed by Warsaw Black (378), Wawasee (380), Elkhart Memorial (390), Triton (395) and Concord (431).
Tim Rata and Luke Johnson each shot a round of 88 to pace the Warsaw Orange team. Jacob Foster shot 90, Robbie Sullivan 92 and Josh Ahlersmeyer 95.
Andrew Gauger fired a 91 to pace the Warsaw Black team. Curtis Archer and Sawyer Stevens each shot 93, while Mark Wallen shot 101 and Ethan Hoff 106.
