Valley Ladies Win Track Title
The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School 6th-7th grade girls track team won a conference championship Saturday.
Valley totaled 92 points to take top honors in the Running Rivers Conference Meet.
Sarah Tucker led the way to the title for Valley. She won both the 100 and 200 meter dashes and also teamed with Gabby Olson, Haley Hoover and Caleigh Byrer to win the 400 relay race.
Olson took first in the 100 hurdles for the champions. Olivia Alspaugh won the high jump event and Payton Warner won the shot put.
The Valley 8th grade girls team placed second with 92 points.
Cheyenne Oldfather took first in the 100 and also teamed with Helene Drake, Kaleigh Shumaker and Mackenkie Fear to win the 400 relay event.
Drake won the 400 for Valley. Melinda Kruger was first in the 200 hurdles and Caleigh Zolman won the shot put competition.
The Valley 8th grade boys team placed third in the meet with 93 points.
Dakota Parker won the 100 meter dash. He also teamed with Zane Duff, Camden Tucker and Travis Shull to win the 400 relay.
The 6th-7th grade boys team was led by Dwight Conley. He placed second in the shot put event for Valley. Valley was fourth as a team in the meet with 70 points.
