Triton Sports Wrap – May 12
The Triton girls tennis team rolled past South Bend Riley 4-1 Monday evening.
Kaelyn Mason posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles for the Trojans.
Kylie Mason won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles for Triton, which improved to 10-3 with the non-conference victory.
The Trojans also got wins from both of its doubles teams. The pair of Holly Stogsdill and Shayla May won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1. The duo of Cassie Irons and Michal Scherer-Berry won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2.
Riley won the junior varsity competition 3-0.
Softball Squad Defeated
The Triton softball team outhit Bremen Monday night.
Unfortunately for the hosts, they did not outscore the Lions in a key conference game at Triton.
Bremen edged past the Trojans 7-5 for their second Northern State Conference win of the season over Triton.
Triton outhit the Lions 12-9 in the contest.
The foursome of Janae Kreft, Mallorie Jennings, Hannah Jennings and Allyson Brown each had two hits for Triton. Krystal Sellers had two RBI for the Trojans.
Mallorie Jennnings took the pitching loss despite allowing just one earned run. She struck out five and walked none.
Chelsea Huppert got the win in the circle for Bremen with nine strikeouts and two walks.
