Warsaw WorkOne Hosts Drop-Out Awareness Walk
Today WorkOne and supporters invited members of the public to support young Hoosiers who are engaged in learning and building their skills to earn a better future after dropping out of high school.
Individuals of all ages gathered at Warsaw’s Central Park to walk to raise awareness to Northern Indiana’s ongoing dropout recovery program, a strategic effort to assist young people who’ve decided to become job-ready. Moreover, the event helps recognize “Opportunity Youth,” a WorkOne-steered project to help energize dropout recovery.
The Kosciusko County WorkOne Out-Of-School Walk took off from the west pavilion in Warsaw Central Park and participants walked 1.2 miles along East Main Street, West Center Street and North Indiana Street, returning back to Central Park at the end of the event. Food was supplied for those walking during the event, which is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WorkOne and supporters hope the walk contributes to building awareness of the challenges that dropout-recovery poses to local communities in north-central Indiana.
