Golf Outing Will Benefit Boomerang Backpacks
The percentage of school students receiving either free or reduced price lunches is high in Kosciusko County and exceeds 50 percent in some schools. Boomerang Backpacks was created as a way to provide take home meals in backpacks for these students and to help eliminate food insecurity.
Between Wawasee, Warsaw and Tippecanoe Valley schools, more than 600 students are served by Boomerang Backpacks.
The second annual Boomerang Backpacks Golf Outing will be held Monday, June 16, at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, 7245 N. Kalorama Road, Leesburg. It will support the Boomerang Backpacks programs in the three school districts.
There will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start June 16 with registration 30 minutes prior to start time. Entry fee is $400 and includes green fees and lunch for four. Sponsorship opportunities are available and teams are being sought, too. Sponsoring a hole is $100, silver level sponsor is $500 (includes hole sponsor and complimentary fee for one foursome), gold level sponsor is $1,000 (includes two hole sponsors and complimentary fee for two foursomes), platinum sponsor is $2,500 (includes banner at event and complimentary fee for four foursomes) and presenting sponsors, $5,000.
In addition, there will be a 50/50 raffle and if someone makes a hole in one on hole number 13, they will win a 2013 Jeep Sport Wrangler from Warsaw Autoplex. If the vehicle has been sold by the day of the golf outing, another will be substituted.
