Skaters Go Big At Mantis Comp

WARSAW – Mantis Skate Park in Warsaw hosted it’s 2014 Competition and Big Trick Contest Saturday afternoon. Contestants of all ages went big, nailing high-flying kickflips, grinds and manuals, to impress the judges and take home one of the many prizes.
For the competition, each contestant got one run to wow the judges. In big trick contest, each skater was given three chances to bust out their boldest move.
In the pro division, Drew Behler won first place, Nico Rodriguez took second, Alex Hernandez came in third and Jake Landis got fourth. In the intermediate class, Aeryk Brant won first place, Esteban Paredes took second and Brandon White cam in third.
In the beginner division, Alec Wortinger won first, Jesson Burrous came in second and Andrew Hawblitzel took third. And in the novice division Danny Lopez won first, and Andrew Haw took second.
The contest was not just for skateboards. Rollerbladers were also given a chance to compete. Danny Lopez won first place, and Andrew Hawblitzel took second. Alex Hernandez took home top honors for the skateboard big trick competition.
