Primelife Center Hosts Music Event
Everyone is welcome to come to Senior Primelife Enrichment Center’s “Music at the Center” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at North Webster Community Center, 391 N. Main St. (SR 13). Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, is providing a free picnic style meal. Entertainment will follow dinner.
First will be Hannah Bushong accompanied by her father, Tim Bushong, on the acoustic guitar. Hannah sings beautifully and features many tunes way beyond her years. It is a real pleasure to hear her voice. Second on the venue will be karaoke by Reggie and George DeSmet. They love to sing oldies but goodies and get you rocking and singing along.
More SPEC Activities
Come enjoy the evening with the SPEC seniors. The only thing that is being asked is that guests bring a can or two for the North Webster Food Pantry. They are always in need of replenishing their shelves and with school starting they will need extra.
The next casino trip to Four Winds will be Monday, Aug. 18. The fee is still $35 per person. There is a $15 e-play and a $10 food voucher as incentives from the casino. Come and enjoy the day.
Shuffleboard will be starting from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays. If you are interested in playing, call SPEC Director Barb Hetrick, 574-834-1600, extension 4. Mah Jongg is played 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Everyday at 9 a.m., there is euchre and manipulation and on Tuesday and Thursday, bridge. Come in and join in for some fun and great conversation.
Open House
Mark your calendars for the 10th anniversary grand open house for the North Webster Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the NWCC. The SPEC room will be open and people will be doing all the things that we do daily. Come observe and maybe you will want to join in on the activities. In the past 10 years the center has come a long, long way and will be going further still.
