Grace Completes Deal With SIDEARM/Volar
WINONA LAKE – The Grace College Athletic Department has signed a deal with SIDEARM Sports and Volar Video to stream video of Lancer home athletic events starting in 2014.
The revolutionary deal with Volar Video allows Grace to stream a high-quality video feed of Lancer varsity games embedded into Grace’s athletic site. The home for Grace’s video feed can be found at www.GCLancers.com/watch. Games will be streamed completely free of charge to fans thanks to Volar’s corporate advertising sponsors that will be inserted mid-roll into Grace’s broadcasts.
“We are excited to offer video streaming to parents, fans and alumni starting this fall. While we wish everyone could join us at the games, we hope that we have provided a new avenue for fans to stay connected with our fantastic teams and to follow the story of their seasons in a visual way,” said Grace Sports Information Director Josh Neuhart. “After talking with Volar and their clients, including the Mountain West Conference, we feel confident that Volar and SIDEARM will be great partners as we start this voyage into video streaming. Volar may be a young company, but they are set to explode at the collegiate level thanks to their pioneering software and streaming options.”
On Grace’s streaming home page, fans can view the upcoming scheduled broadcasts or catch archived highlights. Fans can also find links to the broadcasts on the athletic homepage or on the team-specific schedules online.
The first streamed game of the 2014-15 athletic season will be a historic one on August 15 as Grace unveils the newly renovated Miller Athletic Complex. The men’s and women’s soccer teams will play a doubleheader that night with the men’s team to face FC Indiana at 7 p.m. and the women’s team to host the Haiti Women’s National Team at 9 p.m.
