Two area companies, CTB Inc. and Miller’s Heath Systems, have signed on to be pacesetters for the 2014 United Way Campaign in Kosciusko County. Internal teams of employees at both companies, along with United Way staff, have been working to execute their annual fund drive designed especially for their employees.

CTB Inc. (a Berkshire Hathaway company) founded in 1952, is a global leader providing innovative systems and solutions to agriculture to increase efficiency and profitability for their customers. Their products are used in more than 110 countries and sold through a worldwide network of independent distributors and dealers. They currently market products under 17 primary brands including the original two, Chore-Time and Brock. CTB employs approximately 500 employees in Milford.

In addition to their employee campaign and corporate gift, CTB hosts fundraising events to support their campaign drive, including dodgeball and corn hole tournaments for employees, as well as a Nelson’s Golden Glow chicken sale with all proceeds benefiting the United Way.

Celebrating 50 years with a local staff of over 300 employees in Warsaw and Syracuse, Miller’s Health Systems is known for providing long term care, rehabilitation and home health services. Employees at Miller’s are invested in the community through an “iCommunity” initiative that challenges each facility to be active participants in their individual neighborhoods and organizations in their area.

Patricia Coy, executive director of United Way of Kosciusko County, stated, “United Way is fortunate to have long standing relationships with CTB Inc. and Miller’s Health System; we are thrilled they will be joining the campaign as pacesetters this year.”

The annual campaign is a tool used by United Way of Kosciusko County to drive and sustain change in our community. The 2014 campaign is as important as ever, as we try to positively impact our county in the areas of education, income (financial stability) and health.
