Warsaw Harriers Fourth In Opener
HUNTINGTON – The Warsaw boys cross country team made its’ season debut Saturday.
Owen Glogovsky led the way as the Tigers posted a fourth-place finish in the Huntington North Invitational.
Junior Glogovsky placed ninth overall in a time of 16:58 as Warsaw compiled a team score of 152.
No. 4 Carroll won the team title in the 20-team event with a score of 73.
Senior Nick Bergen was right behind teammate Glogovsky in 10th place in a time of 17:01. Junior Jonathan Beres was 28th in 17:47 for Warsaw, with sophomores T.J Day 47th in 18:11 and Avery Torres 58th in 18:21 to complete the scoring.
Seniors Jacob DeBoest and Daniel Messenger completed the top seven in the varsity lineup. DeBoest placed 62nd in 18:24, while Messenger was 63rd in 18:28.
The Warsaw junior varsity team also notched a fourth-place finish. Carroll won the JV team championship with a score of 18, while the Tigers scored 132.
Lucas Howett led the JV Tigers by placing seventh in a time of 18:24. Nathaniel Gottschalk was 19th in 19:08, followed by Trent Thompson in 40th (20:09), Sam Yeager in 47th (20:28), Nathan Miller in 61st (20:52), Eric Cusick in 64th (20:55) and Cam Hoskins in 71st (21:11).
Warsaw returns to action on Sept. 2 by hosting the Tiger Invitational at WCHS.
