NW Students Seek Sponsors For Walk-A-Thon
North Webster Elementary School Parent Teachers Organization will be having its third annual Walk-A-Thon, Friday, Sept. 19. Last year the students raised nearly $19,000.
Much of those funds were used to update the school library. This year’s proceeds will go toward gymnasium improvements to enhance school and community functions.
Students will be soliciting sponsors for the event beginning this week. Donations are tax deductible and checks can be made payable to the N.W.E. PTO. Sponsors may mail checks directly to North Webster Elementary School, Attention PTO, 5745 N. 750E, North Webster, IN, 46555.
On Walk-A-Thon day, students will walk for thirty minutes around the school track where there will be stations along the way with fun activities. Toward the end of the day, the teachers and staff walk or run a teacher race. Students always enjoy watching their teachers race against each other.
Every student who participates in the Walk-A-Thon will be given a Warrior visor. Students who raise $30 will receive an entry in a drawing to win a bike. One bike will be awarded per grade level. Any student who raises $50 wins a free skating party in October. The student collecting the most money overall will win a $200 Meijer gift card.
Walk-A-Thon is always a fun event for all. Parent volunteers are welcome and needed. If you are a parent or friend of North Webster Elementary students and would like to assist on our Walk-A-Thon day, please send an email, [email protected] for more information.
