Syracuse Parks Photo Contest Winners Announced

Syracuse Parks Department recently announced winners in its photo contest. Winners received $50 and their photos were framed and displayed in the community center lobby for a year.
In past years the park department has held a youth nature photo contest but decided to change it to fun in the parks, so all the photos had to be taken in the Syracuse parks. Categories focused on fun in the sun, playing in the park and picturesque parks.
The contest was held in conjunction with National Parks and Recreation Month in July.
To celebrate, Syracuse Parks and Recreation organized the photo contest highlighting the vibrant park system. The contest was open to all amateur photographers in grades 12 and under. Contest categories included, “Fun in the Sun,” “Playing in the Parks,” “Picturesque Park,” and “Park Selfies,” but all photos were to be taken within the Syracuse Parks system.
