WPAC Hosting Bluegrass Gathering Sept. 27
The Bluegrass Gathering is happen at the Warsaw Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27. This exciting event will feature three Indiana well known bluegrass bands.
Starting us off that evening is Goldmine Pickers from Goshen, Indiana. Next up, from Indianapolis, Circle City Bluegrass Band and closing the evening is Blue Mafia from Muncie. This evening will be filled with hot pickin’, tight harmonies, and just plain down home great music.
The Goldmine Pickers have brewing a fresh blend of acoustic music for audiences in the US and Europe since 2003. They have focused on developing a unique sound that nods to American genres while crossing traditional boarders to create a fresh new sound-one that draws the audience together. Members include: Sean Hoffman, Adam Carter and Lukas Simpson.
Circle City Bluegrass Band was formed in 1995 and has four members, each with twenty years experience playing bluegrass and folk music. Building on this musical background, the band also adds touches of newgrass and Celtic music to their shows. Members include: David Schroeder, Kevin Donnelly, Boyd Thaxton and Joe Toole.
Blue Mafia has become a fan and promoter favorite. Dara and Tony Wray formed the group in 2011 and by 2012 won DelFest Band Competition and have twice been awarded 3rd place in the SPBGMA International Band Competition. Their debut album, MY COLD HEART, was released in May 2013. Members include: Dara and Tony Wray, Kent Todd, Cody Looper and Mike Gregory.
