Free And Reduced Meals Available At Lakeland
Lakeland Learning Center announced sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program and its policy for providing free and reduced-price meals at no separate charge. Free and reduced-price meals will be provided to participants meeting the approved eligibility criteria.
Meals are available to all enrolled participants without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability at the following site, 1205 N Long Drive, Syracuse. Listed below are the USDA income eligibility guidelines effective July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015. To be eligible you must be at or below the following income levels, for reduced meals:
Household size of one, annual $21,590, monthly $1,800. Twice per month i $900, biweekly $831 and weekly $416.
Household size of two; annual $29,101, monthly $2,426, twice per month $1,213, biweekly $1,120, weekly $560.
Household size of three; annual $36,612, monthly $3,051, twice per month $1,526, biweekly $1,409, weekly $705.
Household size of four; annual $44,123, monthly $3,677, twice per month $1,839, biweekly $1,698, weekly $849.
Household size of five; annual $51,634, monthly $4,303, twice per month $2,152, biweekly $1,986, weekly $993.
Household size of six; annual $59,145, monthly $4,949, twice per month $2,465, biweekly $2,275, weekly $1,138.

To qualify for free meals households must be at or below the following income levels:

Household size of two; annual, $1,705, monthly $853, twice per month $787, biweekly,$585 and weekly $394.
Household size of three; annual, $25,727, monthly $2,144, twice per month $1,072, biweekly $990, weekly $495.
Household size of four; annual, $31,005, monthly $2,584, twice per month $1,292, biweekly $1,193, weekly $597.
Household size of five; annual, $36,283, monthly income $3,024, twice per month $1,512, biweekly $1,396, weekly $698.

For each additional family member add $5,278 annually, $440 monthly, $220 twice per month, $203 biweekly and $102 weekly.
Children who are members of households receiving TANF or Food Stamp benefits, Head Start participants, or are foster children are automatically eligible to receive free meal benefits.
This program, administered by the USDA and the Indiana Department of Education, Division of School and Community Nutrition Programs gives financial assistance to child care centers so nutritious meals can be integrated with nonresidential child care services for children.
The goal of the program is to improve the diets of young children and increase the opportunity for children to eat a variety of nutritious foods.
