Corporate Dodgeball to Benefit UW
It’s the corporate world taking on – well, the corporate world in a full on game of Corporate Dodgeball.
The United Way fundraising event is slated for Tuesday, Aug. 7, when 16 teams will take the floor in an effort to become the ultimate dodgeball champion.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Lakeview Middle School gym.
Started in 2004 by pacesetter business Bowen Center, the Corporate Dodgeball challenge is the main kick off to the annual UW fundraising campaign. Teams in this year’s challenge are from Akzo Nobel, Biomet, Black Concrete and Construction, Bowen Center, Brock Manufacturing, Choretime, DePuy, Grace College, Lake City Bank, Maple Leaf Farms, Medtronic, Mutual Bank, Paragon Medical, Silveus Insurance, Symmetry Medical and Warsaw AutoPlex.
In addition to the dodgeball competition, the audience this year is being invited to take part in the fun. One lucky attendee will get the opportunity to win a new car, donated by Warsaw AutoPlex. The winner will have to make two out of three half-court baskets to take home the vehicle.
Admission is just $2 for spectators, but children under the age of 10 are free. All proceeds go to the United Way.
