Thomas Harold Gray
Thomas Harold Gray, 69, of Leesburg, Ind., passed away at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1945, in Anderson, Ind., to the late Harold and Mary (Robinette) Gray. On July 3, 2004, in Leesburg, he married Cheryl Van. She survives.
Thomas was a Vietnam veteran, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 253, a former commander of the Eagles and a retired employee of General Motors. Thomas was a loving father and husband.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter: Heather Gray, Anderson; a son: Wade (Lysette) Gray, Washington, Ind.; four stepchildren: Alan Goodoien, Alex Goodoien, Audrya Pappas and Austine Bacon, all of Omaha, Neb.; a sister: Patricia (Max) Newkirk, Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother in-law: Norm Rice, Anderson; mother in-law: Marian Van, Omaha; a sister in-law: Geri (Gordon) Hopkins, Fairplay, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and many dear and caring friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Nancy Rice; and an infant grandson: Nathan Wesley Gray.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the American Legion Post 253, located at 756 E. South St., North Webster, Ind. Pastor Alfredo Alonza will officiate. A luncheon will follow the funeral service. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
