Valley MS Sports Wrap – Sept. 23
The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School football teams picked up a pair of big wins Tuesday to highlight athletic action.
The 7th grade team blanked Northfield 22-0.
Jaydin Conley had two touchdowns, 61 yards rushing and an interception for Valley. Tanner Trippiedi also had a touchdown and Jalen Potter 52 yards receiving for the winners.
Alex Morrison had two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions as the Valley 8th grade team topped Northfield 28-0. Wes Melanson had 162 total yards of offense, while Alex Bell and Josh Hazard each scored a touchdown.
Plymouth defeated Valley in four volleyball matches. Plymouth won the 7th grade A match 22-25, 25-12, 15-10 and the B match 25-13.
Plymouth also won the 8th grade A match 25-15, 25-23. Kennedie Brooks had two aces and Sydney Howard eight assists for Valley. Anna Walters had four assists, Sophie Bussard and Hannah Durkes each had three kills.
Plymouth won the 8th grade B match 25-16. Sarah Myers had two aces and two assists, while Rachael Randall had a kill and an ace and Makenzie Oldham a kill.
The Valley cross country teams competed against North Miami and Whitko.
Cole Demske led the boys team by placing second in a time of 12:22. Evan Lowman was third in 13:09, with Layne Prater ninth (14:33), Dakota Snappy 10th (15:02), Payton Mills 11th (15:09), Chris Hurd 12th (16:20), Johnny G 15th (18:38) and Jeremy Landis 16th (19:50).
Taylor Gunter finished in second place in a time of 13:32 to lead the Valley girls team. Haley Hoover was fourth in 13:56, with Alyssa Bell sixth (15:23), Ava Craig seventh (15:45) and Bethany Johnson eighth (16:04).
