Jean G. Braddock
Jean G. Braddock, 94, formerly of Warsaw, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at her residence in Chicago, Ill.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1919, in Warsaw, to Chester McCullough and Effie L. (Weirick) McCullough. On May 24, 1940 she married William J. Braddock who passed away on Dec. 13, 2006.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Warsaw until 1960. Braddock was a former resident of Hinsdale, Ill.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Stamford, Conn.; and Western Springs, Ill. She moved back to the Warsaw area from 1980-2009 then lived in Chicago until her passing.
Braddock was a 1937 graduate of Warsaw High School, was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, and member of the United Methodist Women. Throughout her life and many moves with her family she was also a member of the Methodist churches in Stamford, Conn., and Western Springs, Ill. She was a member and past president of the Delta Theta Tau sorority, as well as a member of the Westside Mother’s Club, 20th Century Club and the Clio Club.
She is survived by her daughter: Lana Braddock, Chicago, Ill., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw..
Her funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at 1 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Toni Carmer. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
