Wawasee Hosts Stuff The Bus Food Drive
Wawasee High School is comprised of students and staff members from the towns of Syracuse, North Webster and Milford. All three towns have local food pantries that serve the residents in their townships.
These food pantries rely heavily on community donations in order to ensure they have enough supplies to serve those who require assistance.
Currently Wawasee Community School Corporation has a 50 percent free and reduced student population. This means that 50 percent of the students household income is at or below the state level of poverty.
This year WHS Key Club will be holding their annual non-perishable food drive, Stuff The Bus, during the week of Nov. 10-15. THe Key Club’s goal is the Stuff The Bus full of food that will be donated to the Syracuse, North Webster, and Milford food pantries.
The bus will be at the high school every morning during the week for student and staff donations. Key Club members will also be at the following locations during the week.
Dollar General store in Milford 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11
NewMarket in North Webster 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13
NewMarket in Syracuse 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15
Donations will be delivered to the food pantries after school on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
