Parker Arrested After DOC Release
Jackie Roselle Lee Parker Jr., found himself going back to jail Thursday after being released from serving a sentence at Westville Correctional Facility. This time it was to the Kosciusko County Jail.
Parker was released on Oct. 11 from the Westville facility. DOC offender information shows Parker may have completed serving an original sentence due to a violation of probation or community correction. The charges he was incarcerated for were criminal confinement and robbery out of St. Joseph County.
Parker, 25, of South Bend, was arrested Thursday, on a warrant for forgery, a class C felony, and identity deception a class C felony. He is being held on a $10,000 surety bond.
Filed on March 20, the affidavit of probable cause states on May 14, 2010, Mentone Police Officer James Eads arrested an individual who identified himself as Jamar Mason. Mason had an Indiana identification card, but no driver’s license. He was initially booked for never having a driver’s license. After going through the booking process the individual signed the paperwork with the name of Jamar Mason. When he failed to appear for the court date, a warrant was issued.
On July 14, 2010, Mason was arrested and brought to the jail. He denied being arrested on May 14, 2010. Fingerprints were taken and compared to those from the May arrest and it was determined that Mason and the man initially arrested on May 14, 2010, were not the same individual.
Warsaw Police Officer Brad Kellar created a six person photograph array on Feb. 26, 2014, to show a witness in a strong armed robbery case. One of those photographs included the May 14, 2010, arrest photo of the individual who identified himself as Jamar Mason. That individual was picked out of the photograph array.
That photograph was shown to St. Joe County Jail Assistant Warden Steven Richmond in an attempt to obtain an identity. Richmond identified the individual as Jackie Parker Jr.
Police spoke with Parker who admitted he had used Jamar Mason’s name and identifying information when he was booked into the jail inĀ 2010. He stated he did not know Mason and did not remember how he obtained Mason’s identification card. He also admitted he signed Mason’s name on the 2010, booking paperwork.
